About 100 professors, 110 assistant professors and permanent lecturers as well as more than 550 lecturers are responsible for the task of teaching our students. More than 50% come from abroad.
Good teacher/student ratio
To be able to cope with higher student numbers, the University of St.Gallen has invested in an extension of its faculty in the last few years. The HSG has today a good teacher/student ratio in economic sciences in Switzerland. This means that the high quality of education is guaranteed regardless of increasing student numbers.
Teaching of basic subjects by full professors
In contrast to many other universities, full professors, i.e. holders of chairs, teach undergraduates right from the start of their degree courses at the University of St.Gallen.
Rooted in practice
We place a premium on an education that is rooted both in science as well as in practical experience. Our professors are closely associated with the institutes, with some professors serving as institute directors. The institutes work to ensure practical relevance while maintaining close relationships with industry, legal practice, politics and society.
Worldwide network
Our faculty are part of a worldwide network and take part in an intimate exchange of ideas with our students. Faculty members pass on their expertise not only in lectures or study groups; they also make themselves available to students for questions in their free time.
